Hon. (full name)
Dear Congressman (insert name):
As a constituent of your district, I request that you co-sponsor H. Con. Res. 181 expressing the sense of the Congress that the United States Postal Service should issue a postage stamp commemorating Lieutenant Colonel Matt Urban and his service during World War II and that the Citizensí Stamp Advisory Committee should recommend to the Postmaster General that such a stamp be issued. This resolution was introduced by Rep. Hoekstra on September 10, 2009, and was referred to the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.
For his extraordinarily brave service from July 2, 1941 until he was severely wounded on September 3, 1944, Lt. Col. Urban was awarded virtually every medal and award possible. Upon his receipt of the Medal of Honor in 1980, Lt. Col. Urban became considered the most decorated combat soldier from World War II.
Seventy years after the start of World War II, such a simple tribute as having a stamp issued in his honor is long over-due. I would appreciate your co-sponsoring this resolution.
